Pioneering the Way

1970s

Founding of Shaw Pipeline Servicesᵀᴹ

From its founding Shaw Pipeline Servicesᵀᴹ began in the pipeline mills, inspecting ERW pipe seams ultrasonically. Since then Shaw Pipeline Servicesᵀᴹ has grown into one of the leading NDT providers in the industry.

1980s

Automatic Ultrasonic Testing (AUT)

In the late 1980s in Canada, a new chapter was beginning in the world of ultrasonic testing. Shaw Pipeline Servicesᵀᴹ was able to develop its technology through a series of groundbreaking projects with TransCanada Pipeline, introducing the world to AUT. These techniques have since been embraced globally wherever mechanized welding is used.

2009

Ultrasonic and Radiographic Weld Services

Shaw Pipeline Servicesᵀᴹ developed a comprehensive range of proven ultrasonic and radiographic pipeline weld inspection services including Real-Time Radiography (RTR) where the results are digitally displayed through an interface on a computer screen for disposition minimizing the environmental impact, making it a more eco-friendly tool that is now used worldwide.
